
Surrounded by just 25 of their closest friends and family, they professed their love and commitment to each other. It was a chilly, windy, winter’s day as everyone gathered into Christ Church just inside Jerusalem’s Old City walls, but no one there would have missed it for the world.
Joanna and Alex flew in from the UK for their intimate destination wedding. Since getting engaged in Jerusalem the year before, the two of them dreamed of coming back to Israel for their wedding. It all seemed too difficult though and they started making plans to be wed locally. That is until a friend put them in touch with a vicar at Christ Church who agreed to marry them. From that point, it all just seemed to fall into place.
As the day came about, I have to say that it all did seem obviously meant to be. Even the rainy weather let up for just enough throughout the day to let everyone take a walk down through the Armenian Quarter to the Western Wall, and back for the reception. All in all, it was truly a perfect day, with emotion overflowing…
